CHRISTINA PETTERSSON was born in Stockholm, Sweden and lives in Miami, FL.
In addition to drawing, she makes multi screen videos and sculptural installations.
Her most recent shows include the Art and Culture Center of Hollywood, FL,
Launch F18, curated by Site95, New York, NY and Primary Projects, Miami, FL.
She has also exhibited at the Birmingham Museum of Art, AL,
Columbus Museum of Art, GA, Baltimore Museum of Art, MD,
Wiregrass Museum of Art, AL, Naples Museum of Art, FL,
and locally in South Florida at the Miami Art Museum, the Museum of
Contemporary Art, Locust Projects and Carol Jazzar Contemporary,
to name a few. She has had solo exhibitions in Florida at the
Art and Culture Center of Hollywood (2012), Farside Gallery (2011),
Spinello Gallery (2010, 2008), and Rocket Projects (2006, 2005),
and her solo show, Resurrection, at Spinello Gallery was filmed for a
documentary on Artnet TV. Her work is in the permanent Miami collections
of Martin Z. Margulies at the Warehouse, Debra and Dennis Scholl,
Liza and Arturo Mosquera, Dan and Kathryn Mikesell, Marie Goudie,
Edouard Duval-Carrié and Kate Shanley. She has been published multiple times
in Manifest Drawing and New American Paintings Magazine,
where she was the editor’s pick twice, and has been interviewed for ArtSlant,
Miami Modern Luxury, Florida International Magazine, and Miami Photo.
She was named one of the “Young Miami artists making a mark this Art Basel go-around” by The Miami Herald last December, and was one of eight artists
chosen worldwide by the Four Seasons Hotel to do a commissioned work
for their 50th anniversary. She has been awarded the South Florida Cultural Consortium twice, the largest regionally sponsored artist grant in the country,
as well as the Individual Artist Fellowship, both from the Florida Department
of Cultural Affairs. She is a Fulbright Scholar for Sweden. She has attended residencies at the prestigious Vermont Studio Center and Yaddo,
and is currently an artist-in-resident locally at the Deering Estate,
where she is collaborating with fellow artist Antonia Wright in creating a book.
