If there were questions as to what contemporary art has been in Miami over the past ten years then the Bass Museum has the answers with their current exhibition. Vanishing Points showcases selected works from the Debra and Dennis Scholl collection. Over the years they had established World Class Boxing as an art space where their collection is on display by a guest curator. It has been an exciting location to witness what treasures they have. This year the Bass Museum has invited them to feature work ranging from international artist Jim Lambie to Miami based artist John Sanchez. There is also an insightful interview with the guest curator Gean Moreno on the museum website where he explains the conceptual framework for the show.
I left that night contemplating what the next ten years will bring in the form of contemporary art in Miami. These are questions that will be answered to be sure.
