Move your hand through a cluster of nails. Open wound, Blood, blood and then bone.

Performance art is free to the imagination, it seems to exist with the purpose to explore the human condition. It can be traced back to religious ritualism, tribal dances, and role playing. It is live, spontaneous and no two performances are ever exactly the same. It means taking risks and it has no guidelines. It cannot be bought, sold, or traded as a commodity. In the past performance artists saw the movement as a means of taking their art directly to an audience, thus eliminating the need for galleries, agents, or any other aspect of capitalism. It can be amusing, shocking, or horrifying but no matter which adjective applies it is meant to be memorable.

Miami is first Performance International Festival will be a four day series of events through Downtown Miami, the Miami Design District and in the Botanical Gardens of the City of Miami Beach from July 26- 29th, 2012.

The event is organized by Edge Zones Projects.
