Contemporary African Diaspora Art (ABPCADA)
Art of Black: The Annual Art Basel Panel Discussion on Contemporary African Diaspora Art was created by Curator, Ludlow Bailey in 2009 at the University of Miami during the Art Basel Festivities in South Florida to highlight and celebrate the extraordinary visual art achievements of the people of African Descent globally. The Annual Art Basel Panel on Contemporary African Diaspora Art (ABPCADA) has become the “go to event” for Global Contemporary Africana Art Discourse during the Art Basel Season in South Florida. The 2018 panel will include Nigerian Performance artists Jelil Aitku, Jamaican artist Ya La’ Ford, African American Architect, Nathaniel Belcher, art critic, Julie Walker and Haitian artist, Stephen Arboite.
The focus of the 2018 panel will be on curatorial activism and the redrafting of the narrative on global African Diaspora Art. The event is free and open to the public.
